As someone that love Chinese culture , I would say this is the best place to try authentic Asian dishes. I’ve tried so many different dishes and I love them all. Well prepared and they give you a pretty good portion. Some of my favorites are Taro cream, black bean noodle, coconut chicken, sweet sesame rice balls and xingjiang chicken. I would love to see more options on the menu one day.
Sichuan Pepper in Vernon is a must-try! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. Our server was so friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. And the food? Simply amazing! Best Chinese food I've ever had! My husband and I probably order from here almost every week since trying them a couple months ago. Their fried rice has so much great flavor on its own that I don't need to even add soy sauce. Their steamed shrimp dumplings and spring rolls are my favorite apps. Most delicious soup too- I especially love the wonton soup but also really enjoy their hot & sour soup too. For entrees, the mei fun, sesame chicken, beef & broccoli, chicken & string bean, and crispy duck are all delicious! I try a different entree every time and end up loving each one.
What an amazing place, it’s a hidden gem. Very authentic Chinese food! Outside restaurant board name is worn out and need to be replaced but food is great !
Authentic Chinese food with more traditional dishes than other restaurants offer. What a great change from the American food offered at numerous other restaurants. Flavorful dishes, large portions and staff willing to help with dish suggestions! We had dumplings with spicy oil, deep fried diced chicken sauteed with dried red pepper- wow! This dish had a dry rub of spices and seasonings and was outstanding! (If you can handle hot wings and like some spice give this a shot! ) We also had sichuan beef. This dish was also delicious with vegetables cooked to perfection and beef actually seasoned. The beef dish is not served with a traditional gloppy sauce like American (fast food Chinese takeout ). Be prepared to be wowed with more traditional dishes from Sichuan Pepper! June 2025
I can't express enough how impressed and amazed we were with the menu and the food. Had to try the Preserved Eggs, Stir-fried asparagus lettuce, black fungus in vinnegarette, and a Mala pot. The eggs were amazing and just enough heat from the crushed chili and oil. Asparagus lettuce was so crisp and flavorful I was shocked. Definitely going back many more times because there is so much on the menu I've never seen nor tried before. That says a lot because I live for new experiences. There are so many different combinations you can make in the Mala pot it's going to be difficult knowing where to start! Definitely check it out. The in-person menu is better than online and take-out menu!
We lucked into Sichan Pepper for lunch as we were travelling through town. Our food was great, served quickly and our server was friendly.
Faithful customer for many years. This is one of the only places in Central CT to enjoy authentic Sichuan cuisine. I advise to wenture off the part of the menu in your comfort zone and try some of awesome choices deeper in the menue.
